Betschart is making his first Championship start. In 2024, he won the 54 Hole Texas Junior Open and finished runner-up in the Bermuda Amateur Stroke Play, fourth in the Scottish Boys’ Under-16 Open and T-15 in the R&A Junior Open in Scotland. In 2023 at the age of 15, he qualified for and competed in the PGA Tour’s Bermuda Championship. Notable players to compete in a PGA Tour event before their 16th birthday over the past 25 years include Michelle Wie West, Tianlang Guan, Kenny Leseur and Miles Russell.
