Tello is making his second Championship start. In each of the past two years, he has won at least five World Amateur Golf Ranking events. In 2024, he won the Peruvian National Junior Stroke Play Championship and finished T-15 in the South American Junior Championship in Uruguay. In 2023, he won the Chilean Junior Championship and T-13 in the South American Junior Championship in Bolivia.
