Hastings is making his sixth Championship start. He has never missed the cut and has improved his finish each year. In his debut in Chile in 2018 at the age of 14, he became the first player representing the Cayman Islands to make the cut in the Latin America Amateur. In 2024, he finished runner-up in the Western Intercollegiate for San Diego State and T-5 in the Northeast Amateur in Rhode Island. In 2023, he won four World Amateur Golf Ranking events and represented the Cayman Islands in the Pan American Games in Chile. He also represented the Cayman Islands in the Eisenhower Trophy in 2018 in Ireland and 2022 in France.
