Gómez is making his first Championship start. Last July, he won the Mexican Amateur by five strokes over Jose Antonio Safa. He also finished runner-up in the South American Amateur Championship in Colombia and reached the Round of 64 in the U.S. Junior Amateur in 2024. The two-time junior All-American won the individual title in the Junior America’s Cup in Nevada in 2023 and represented Mexico in the Toyota Junior World Cup in Japan in 2022.
